Even in the darkest dark
November 9, 2016 - I woke up to a strange, sad world I didn't understand. The country I've called home for the past year had voted a divisive, racist, sexist, xenophobic and homophobic buffoon to be their president. My heart goes out to friends and colleagues still reeling from the horrific election outcome. They have been let down by their countrymen. One colleague could not hold back tears during a presentation; another wore black to mourn the tragic state of affairs. I shudder at the thought of this unmentionable being helming one of the world's most powerful nations. The world is a darker place with his mere existence.
Autumnal reflections on a historic day in America. Between light and shadows, which way would the wind blow?
